INDIVIDUAL Spotlight On :
Taylor Jackson is a Senior at Grady High School. She will be attending the College of Wooster as a recipient of the Posse Scholarship in the fall of this year. The Posse Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship awarded to 60 lucky students from Atlanta out of a pool of 1400 nominees. She plans to major in Philosophy and minor in theater, continuing passions, and interest that have developed over the course of her life. While in high school, Taylor has managed an intense workload, having taken 13 AP Classes over the course of three years and maintained a 4.0 GPA. She is a member of the National Honor Society and a volunteer at her church, working with the infant/ toddler age group every other Tuesday Night. She balances, her workload with her devotion to both her debate team the Grady Jesters and the theater community, having performed in productions of West Side Story, Grease, South Pacific, and The Little Mermaid. The Grady Jesters Speech and Debate Team has just celebrated winning the state championship for 10 years in a row. Taylor has contributed a 4th place trophy in Dramatic Interpretation in 2018 and a Runner-Up State Champion trophy in Program Oral Interpretation in 2019. She will be moving on to compete at the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Dallas this upcoming June. When she’s not at school, whether that be for practice, rehearsal, or class, she is home reading a romance novel or crocheting. She aspires to one day become a lawyer, acting as a voice for those who are silenced. She works tirelessly to learn something new every day and making the most of each and every opportunity. As she grows into the woman God has made her be, she attributes her success first to God and second to her family. Without support and guidance from either, she wouldn’t be where she is today.
