LaTonya Askew, Esq.
LaTonya R. Askew is the founder and managing partner of Askew Law & Mediation, LLC. Ms. Askew obtained her Juris Doctorate from Florida A&M College of Law, her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Troy State University, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Georgia Southern University. Ms. Askew interned five years as a law clerk before starting her career as an associate at Dansby & Associates in Atlanta, then Greg T. Bailey & Associates in Douglasville. While an associate Ms. Askew practiced criminal, civil, domestic, wills and trusts, personal injury and bankruptcy law.
Having a heart for family law, Ms. Askew opened Askew Law & Mediation, LLC, a boutique firm specializing in family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, legitimation, paternity, name changes, grandparent’s rights, contempt and other domestic relations actions.
Ms. Askew handles each case personally, along with her specialized staff, to give your case the unique touch needed to win. While a majority of family law cases settle by agreement without the need for judicial intervention, settlement is not possible in all cases. Ms. Askew is an experienced litigator who has successfully litigated child support modification cases, child custody matters, legitimation actions, contested and uncontested divorces, domestic violence cases, contract disputes, and various criminal matters.
In addition to practicing law, Ms. Askew was an adjunct professor at Kennesaw State University. She also has the privilege to be a guest lecturer at the Ridley Regional Mock Trial Tournament at Kennesaw State University and a frequent guest speaker for educational lectures at local high schools. When Ms. Askew is not zealously representing her clients, she enjoys traveling, volunteering in her community, and spending time with family and friends, Ms. Askew is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
