INDIVIDUAL  Spotlight On :

Taylor Jackson

Taylor Jackson

Taylor Jackson has worked everyday to make her dreams come true. Between working on getting her undergraduate degree and building her business she’s constantly working towards bigger and better things.

Taylor attends The College of Wooster where she is a Philosophy and French and Francophone Studies Double Major. In 2019, she was awarded a full tuition scholarship through the Posse Foundation to attend the college.

While maintaining good grades and building connections as a tour guide and communications assistant in the admissions department, she has found crocheting to be something she does often to relieve her stress  and anxiety. Fashion had always been a passion for her, so when she realized she could create her own clothes NYGC By Taylor was born.

NYGC By Taylor sells hand crocheted, made-to-order tops, bottoms, cardigans, bralettes, and accessories with the goal of bringing some handmade to your closet!

Constantly challenging societal standards, she aims to remind us that this is indeed Not Your Grandma’s Crochet!

Acumen was incorporated on April 1, 2001, with seed capital from the Rockefeller Foundation, Cisco Systems Foundation and three individual philanthropists. Our desire was to transform the world of philanthropy by looking at all human beings as members of a single, global community where everyone had the opportunity to build a life of dignity. The organization would invest “Patient Capital,” capital that bridges the gap between the efficiency and scale of market-based approaches and the social impact of pure philanthropy, in entrepreneurs bringing sustainable solutions to big problems of poverty.
