THE STEEPLE AWARDS

The Southeast’s largest Gospel awards show with a national presence is set for Saturday, April 27, 2019 and will feature a live performance by multiple awards winner Charles Jenkins & The Fellowship Choir and many more. This year the award show will be hosted by famed comedian Rodney Perry from The Monique Show on BET. Now in its fourth year, The Steeple Awards brings together some of the biggest names in gospel music and ministry to celebrate their work on the frontline in the battle for souls. It will feature an all-star lineup of performers and nominees, and an iconic roster of honorees who have committed their lives to building the church and transforming lives through Christ.

 

“The Steeple Awards identifies and celebrates ministry leaders and gospel music artists who have earned widespread acclaim as well as those whose contributions have previously gone largely unacknowledged,” said C. Chandon Carter, the show’s creator. “Prepare for a night of powerful testimonies and powerhouse performances. We’re excited to showcase the work that God is doing through these faithful servants.”

 

This year’s Steeple Awards will feature live concert performances from:

  • Charles Jenkins and The Fellowship Choir

  • Tasha Page-Lockhart

  • Canton Jones

  • Vincent Bohanan and The Sounds of Victory 

  • A Tribute to Aretha Franklin (Rest In Heaven)

  • A Tribute to Richard Smallwood by Tarrlyn Ramsey

 

Eight ministry leaders will be honored with the prestigious Nehemiah Honoree Award and they are as follows:

 

• Pastor Anthony Murray, Oasis Church - Atlanta & Paulding GA

• Pastors LaBryant and Phineka Friend, All Nations Worship Assembly Atlanta

• Rev. Dr. Tar-U-Way R.A. and Retta Bright, Turner Chapel AME Church

• Pastor Wilbur and Kimberly Purvis, Destiny World Church

• Bishop Samuel R. Blakes, New Home Ministries - New Orleans & Baton Rouge, LA

• Bishop Dreyfus C. Smith, Wings of Faith Worldwide Ministries

• Pastors Joel and Patricia Gregory, The Linked Up Church

• Joseph W. and Dr. Stephaine Walker III, Mt. Zion Baptist Church-Nashville TN

 

Famed gospel singer, writer and producer Richard Smallwood will receive the Reverend Dr. Clay Evans Lifetime Achievement Award, and The Humanitarian of The Year Award will be given to Juanita Bynum for Community Service.

 

A total of 17 additional awards will be given out this weekend at the pre-show and on the night of the main show to those that has been nominated in their perspective categories, for a complete list, please visit and vote for them on our website.

 

The list of 2019 presenters includes some business owners who have this award show in their hearts. The event will be held at Siloam Church International located at 3695 Roosevelt Hwy. Atlanta GA 30349.

 

The VIP red carpet and pre-event reception begins at 3:00PM, followed by the awards show at 5:00PM. The general admission ticket holders can enter at 4PM. Hundreds of tickets have been sold.
